Katrina Mixon Moore is a compassionate psychology and counseling professional and the owner of Mixon Home Healthcare, dedicated to providing quality care and support to individuals and families in need. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Alabama A&M University and a Master's degree in Counseling. In recognition of her service, leadership, and contributions to the community, she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling (Marriage, Family and Child Therapy), Honoris Causa, from Veridian Christian University in 2026.Dr. Moore's passion for caregiving began at the age of 13 when she became a caregiver for her grandmother. She assisted with feeding, changing, bed baths, meal preparation, and other daily living needs until her grandmother's passing. This experience shaped her heart, strengthened her sense of purpose, and inspired a lifelong commitment to serving others. It also laid the foundation for her vision of providing families with trusted, compassionate care during life's most important moments through Mixon Home Healthcare.An active community advocate, Dr. Moore volunteers throughout her community and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Order of the Eastern Star, and Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. She is also a certified notary and trained in CPR.In 1993, Dr. Moore presented her research on eyewitness testimony at a national symposium at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, where her article was published. With extensive experience supporting individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges, she emphasizes active listening, confidentiality, empowerment, and practical support.Dr. Moore is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) while continuing her commitment to serving her community through advocacy, counseling, healthcare leadership, and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.
